From October 18 to 22, 2021, the Municipality of Tolosa, Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), and USAID RenewHealth conducted its very first CBDR Facilitator’s Training. Tolosa, Leyte is one among the 20 partner sites of the Project.

USAID RenewHealth conducted a face-to-face two-day General Intervention Health and Well-being Awareness (GINHAWA) facilitator’s training and a three-day CBDR facilitator’s training workshop. The CBDR training used the Katatagan Kalusugan at Damayan ng Komunidad (KKDK) training modules that include a combination of lectures, breakout sessions, practice sessions, and module simulations.

Participants include 19 Barangay Health Workers, 11 local government staff, and eight representatives from the DOH-Region 8’s Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (TRC).

The Project specifically aims to capacitate a pool of identified facilitators from the local government and partners from civic organizations through proper coaching and feedback. This will help build local capacity for community coaches and personnel from Tolosa, including those from the DOH Center for Health Development Region 8 and the DOH TRC Salag.
