The Infotext is a tool used for targeted messaging. These are short text messages that express empathy, reinforce life and treatment goals, and encourage self-reflection and motivation. These reminders support intended drug use recovery behavior. It also fosters a common language among clients, service providers, and stakeholders. Interpersonal communication can foster bonds, help clients navigate the program and provide timely information.
The text messages can be used by health service providers when they communicate to PWUDs throughout their recovery journey. You may choose from the five (5) messaging themes/buckets when communicating with recovering clients depending on the need. Aside from the straightforward sending of these infotext through messaging, content can also be used during community events and other drug use awareness and prevention activities.
